Yard Waste

The city of Boston helps you to compost at home which helps reduce garbage, save money, and enrich the soil (you get your own, homemade, fertilizer). By making your own compost, you’re creating a “rich, black soil that is great for your backyard and garden.”

Public Works is a department in Boston that ensures that the city remains safe and clean. It also has several programs to help give out free compost to residents of the city. The compost picked up by Boston gets spread throughout the city’s parks and gardens to help them grow.

Without composting, garbage will only continue piling up and polluting the city and people will have to continue spending money on pricey ways to recycle and reduce waste

Composting is a safer, simpler, and more cost-effective way to get rid of food scraps, recycle objects such as leaves and tree branches, reduce garbage, and end up with a rich fertilizer to help plants grow, everybody wins!
